Committees

Outreach and Mission
​

The Outreach Committee reaches out to members and others with the goal of in-creasing attendance and gaining new members.
Responsibilities: Bring-A-Guest Sundays, Little Free Library, Marketing/Brochures/Business Cards, Parade Float, Trunk-or-Treat, Website, Pew Registers (follow-up with visitors, etc.)

The Mission Committee seeks to provide leadership for the congregation of Bridge-water Presbyterian Church​

make contributions of its time, talents, and money to be shared with others in our community and around the world who need physical and spiritual nourishment.
Responsibilities: Denominational Special Offerings (e.g. One Great Hour, Pentecost, Peacemaking, Joy Gift), Local Mission Efforts (e.g. Souper Bowl, Backpacks, Food Pantry, Blood Drive, Family Thanksgiving Meals, Ink Cartridge Recycling for V.A.I.L.), Shenandoah Presbytery Mission (e.g. Mitten Offering, 2¢-a-Meal), World-wide Mission (e.g. CROP Walk, Race for Hope, Nicaragua mission), Central Valley Mission Community (e.g. Dress-a-Girl, Stop Hunger Now, Well of Hope Shoe Collection), UKirk Campus Ministry​


Building & Grounds
The Building & Grounds Committee seeks to preserve and maintain the physical structure and property of Bridgewater Presbyterian Church.
Responsibilities: Church Work Days, Building Maintenance, Lawn Care/Landscaping/Hardscaping, Custodial needs, Office Equipment/Supply, Capital Improvement planning, Facility Use Guidelines




Christian Education
The Christian Education Committee aims to guide through education, the men, women and children of Bridgewater Presbyterian Church in the journey to know Christ.
Responsibilities: Church School Teachers/Training/Support/Recognition/Program Evaluation, Curriculum, Adult Education, Adult Class(es), Library, Seasonal Pro-grams/Studies (i.e. Lent/Advent), Devotional/Print Resources, Youth Group Pro-grams/Activities (e.g. Advent ornaments, Easter egg hunt), Promotion of Presbytery education events, Youth Mission Trips/Camps, Vacation Bible School – coordinating with local churches
Member Care
The Member Care Committee strives to foster fellowship among Bridgewater Pres-byterian Church members and supports those members throughout life’s changing needs.
Responsibilities: Homebound Member Visits/Communion, Nursery & Nursery volunteers, Church Directory, Spotlight, Member Support, TLC Persons, Men’s Group/Breakfast, Meals promoting Member Fellowship (e.g. Everyone’s Birthday Lunch, Christmas Caroling fellowship, Game Night, Fall Back & Spring Forward Breakfasts)

Spiritual Life
The Spiritual Life Committee is committed to providing meaningful worship opportu-nities where, through music, scripture and examining God’s word, spiritual growth is fostered and a message of hope and grace is shared, focusing on our relationship with God and others.
Responsibilities: Ushers, Greeters, Acolytes, Bell Ringers, Lay Leaders, Bulletins & Liturgy as desired, Pulpit Supply, Organist/Pianist supply, Flowers, Seasonal Deco-rations, Communion Schedule/Supplies, Music/Choir, Wildwood (including Break-fast), Lent Season (Maundy Thursday, Easter Sunrise, decorations, etc), Advent Sea-son (Christmas Eve, Advent Party, special decoration of sanctuary, etc), Community Services (Thanksgiving service, etc.), After Worship Receptions (e.g. Lemonade on the Lawn, Choir appreciation)

Resource
The Resource Committee insures that the financial and personnel requirements of the church are met, using time and talents of the congregation as well as a full time staff. The Resource Committee maintains job descriptions and operations manual.
Responsibilities: Budget Building Process, Annual Stewardship Campaign, Be-quests/Estate Gift Disposition, Capital Need Funding, Audits, Paid Staff Job Descriptions/Reviews/Evaluations, Congregation Time/Talent Resource Card, Financial Information to Congregation, Counting and Depositing of offerings (support Treasurers), Review of Insurance Policies
